Allen West And NDAA: Failing Liberty 101

 ”This is a battlefield that we must stand upon. And we need to let
President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and my dear friend the
Chairman  of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know
that Florida  ain’t on the table. Take your message of equality of  achievement, take
 your message of economic dependency, take your message
of enslaving the  entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people
somewhere else! You  can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom
of the sea, you can  take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of
the United States of  America!”- U.S. Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West R.
FL

What a quote! Rep. Allen West is garnering quite a reputation for his in your face quotes. Some even call West and Marco Rubio the Florida dream ticket for the White House.  What might be a dream for some in Florida’s war party would be quite the nightmare for LIBERTY.

Allen West is complicit in the most egregious evisceration of our Bill of Rights in our
lifetime.
Mr. West’s YES vote to the military arrest and indefinite detention of American
citizens IN AMERICA is a repudiation of the protections bequeathed to us by the
Framers and the Ratifiers under their construction of the constitution.

Mr. West’s rationalization for his YES vote to NDAA is typical of the excuse
machine now being mobilized by the GOP in response to constituent dissatisfaction. So typical in fact, Rep. Justin
Amash uses a video of Mr. West explaining NDAA to a South Florida Tea  Party group as a classic example of
misapprehending the bill, or worse yet, misleading the voters.

Mr. West’s YES vote to NDAA gives unprecedented power to the office of the president.
How interesting that he gives such power to the very man he claims to detest so
vehemently. Indeed, with his YES vote to NDAA, Mr. West voted WITH all of the people in the above quote he would like to “get the
hell out of the United States of America.” That’s  right. Allen West’s YES vote for NDAA was
bipartisan with Nancy Pelosi, Harry  Reid and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Mr. West’s YES vote to NDAA makes a potential enemy of the state of every blogger, Bircher, Liberty Activist and Tenther who comes too close to the truth or gains too much of a following.
Mr. West’s Yes vote to NDAA takes down the shield of the following constitutional
protections:
•Article I Section 9, Clause 2’s right to seek Writ of Habeas Corpus;

•The First Amendment’s right to petition the Government for a
redress of grievances;

•The Fourth Amendment’s right to be free from  unreasonable searches and seizures;

•The Fifth Amendment’s right to be  free from charge for an infamous or capitol crime until presentment or
indictment by a Grand Jury;

•The Fifth Amendment’s right to be free from  deprivation of life, liberty, or property,
without Due Process of  law;

•The Sixth Amendment’s right in criminal prosecutions to enjoy a speedy trial
by an impartial jury in the State and District where the crime shall have been
committed;

•The Sixth Amendment’s right to be informed of  the nature and cause of the accusation;

•The Sixth Amendment’s right confront witnesses;

•The Sixth Amendment’s right to Counsel;

• The Eighth Amendment’s right to be free from excessive bail and fines, and cruel and unusual punishment;

•The Fourteenth Amendment’s right to be free from  deprivation of life, liberty, or property, without Due Process of  law;

Mr. West’s YES vote to NDAA is not just some minor academic argument we can all
agree to disagree on and let stand. Mr. West’s YES vote to NDAA is a 1776 issue.
Mr. West, with his YES vote to NDAA repudiates  several of our original grievances with King
George and Great Britain found  in our Declaration of Independence as follows:

He has affected to  render the Military independent of and superior to the  Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to  their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments

EVERY member of Florida’s D.C. contingent in both houses of Congress voted YES to  NDAA except for Connie Mack, Bill Posey and Alcee Hastings.

Voting YES to NDAA is an unforgiveable act of treachery. None of  Florida’s D.C. contingent who voted YES to NDAA deserves re-election. No matter what they do from here on out, the level of treachery exhibited by  them with this single vote puts them on the wrong side of the constitution. Any individual or group who runs interference for them should seriously search their hearts for their own position on individual liberty.

Each of these Congressmen had the opportunity to make a “bold statement” for  LIBERTY. They failed. Instead they turned it into their OJ Simpson moment,  erasing with one act of inconceivable evil anything good they may have done before or will do again after this attack on freedom.

That even discussing the possibility of these provisions should come up in the halls of Congress is disgusting enough. For it to be passed with such bipartisan  support suggests that time has expired to decide if one stands with The  Constitution, Every Issue, Every Time, No Exceptions, No  Excuses; or one is  more interested in making friends with political insiders and supporting a party agenda.

One opposes tyranny, or one enables it. There is no middle ground and time is not an ally. Wrapping tyranny in the flag and calling it security makes it no less evil.

    If this is true. What ‘s done is done. I will not condemn Colonel Allen West for a second. If, it is true,? Is not everyone entitled to make a mistake..
    Is this a witch hunt to bring down this great American.
    The timing of this release fits right into the ” hate Web that the Republican Elitist are trying to spin around Ted Cruz..
    I’m not buying it.
    To call Senator Rubio, Mr. Amnesty himself? Something is amiss here. And it’s called creditability.
    To Call the Left wing Senator ” obamacare inc.” Nelson??
    Are you freaking kidding me?

    July 3, 2013, Do people even Understand what NDAA really means or why exactly that Allen West voted the way he did…Most of the time a person has a very good reason why they vote the way they do….Obama needs to be MURDERED is what I will say because anyone in a military setting would know that he is the enemy……Obama is EVIL……Does SATAN deserve so much freedom???? Absolutely NOT…..Neither does Obama or his wife or all of those Marxist-Communists in Washington D.C.

  3. Andrew Nappi says:

    Find a challenger from the district. Surely there are would be Ron Pauls in that part of Florida

    And you would replace him with ??????????? It was a horrible vote. So educate him. Explain it to him. But who would you replace him with?

    EXCELLENT ARTICLE!

    West should be tried for TREASON along with the other Traitors in this State who Voted ‘Yes’.

    The Response I received from Senator Nelson telling me ‘he will keep an eye on things’ and:

    “Because I believe our national security professionals should decide the best way to detain and prosecute terror suspects, I also opposed provisions of the defense authorization bill that would allow only the military to handle terror suspects captured in the United States. Efforts to change that language were unsuccessful in the Senate.”

    “But after negotiations with the House of Representatives, the final legislation preserves the rights of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and allows the President to waive the requirement for military custody when necessary to preserve our national security.”

    So in other Words he Voted Yes like West and WE THE CITIZENS OF FLORIDA ARE INDEED ‘ENEMY COMBATANTS’. I am so OUTRAGED!!

    I have sent Legislation from your Website. No Response. I will now Scan and Email to both Rubio and Nelson the Liberty Preservation Act-again.

    NOTE:

    RUBIO RESPONDED TO MY PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS BUT TOTALLY AVOIDING THE NDAA.

    He sent an email saying he understood my Concern for ‘Voting’.

    I don’t know WHO responds to his emails but they are obviously either ‘DUMBED DOWN’ or he explicitly ordered them NOT to address the Issue.

    I will Continue Calling and Writing to BOTH Rubio and Nelson and Governor Scott as well.
